New York City

While my kids have traveled to over 20 countries, they have yet to visit the NYC, one of my favorite cities in the world!   With just a few days before the start of the school, we decided to meet my mom, who lives on the East Coast and make a quick trip. My dilemma was how to spend two and half days in a city that has so many museums, restaurants, shows and attractions to see.

I recommend to pick a few activities that are the “must do’s” on your list and go from there.  Try to stay flexible with your schedule – you may wish to stop in one more shop, or take a coffee or an ice cream break.  Take short cuts – Staten Island ferry or a cruise to see the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline instead of a visit to the Ellis Island (though I would highly recommend the later if you have more time.  Book well in advance if you would like to climb the Statue). Pick one or two neighborhoods to explore –  Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Chinatown, Central Park, Brooklyn – just to name a few.  New York has something for everybody, so no matter what your interests are, you will have an amazing time in New York City!
