A day drive from Chicago (technically, it’s a little over 13 hours to the Black Hills), and we found ourselves out West. Big open prairies, wild bisons and open sky, Badlands and Mt. Rushmore, Native American history, fishing, hiking, caving, wineries, breweries – we found it all in the Black Hills area of South Dakota.
